If you have picked up this month’s Rough Notes Magazine you may have seen three beautiful ladies on the cover, better know as Sava Insurance. We couldn’t be more excited for this wonderful women owned agency to be recognized.
Donna Yother, owner of Sava Insurance, has been a great client and friend of Agency Performance Partners, Agency Appeal and a founding Member of WiN! Located on the coastline of Connecticut, Donna and her daughters have transformed the agency from a non-standard operation to an agency that only writes standard packaged business.
We got to know Donna and the team a few years ago when we were asked to refresh their brand and website – I hopped on the opportunity. Guided by Heart was a natural choice to represent them and their brand. These ladies are working in the community and their agency on routine basis. The entire agency has a commitment to doing what’s right for the customer, even when it’s not easy.
Donna started out as a receptionist in an agency, working mom hours while her children where in school. Being quite the smart cookie she worked her way up from reception to service. Learning this part of the business helped give her a competitive advantage that most agency owners have never received. Shortly after that she migrated into sales as a producer. Knowing she has to be active in her community and balance a growing family, she made a commitment to her career. Through the years Donna developed into being the operations manager and running the entire office. When the opportunity came up for her to purchase the agency it was a difficult decision. After some soul searching and with the support of her family, they took a loan against her husband’s pension and purchased the agency with a partner.
Around that same time Donna’s two outstanding daughters Debbie and Diana entered the business. Diana is a powerhouse producer who has sold over 100 personal lines policies in one month. Diana leads the commercial team by selling and serving large commercial accounts. She enjoys working with non-profits and contractors to help them understand their insurance needs. A few years ago Donna bought out her partner and now is sole owner of the business.
