Did you know that there is not only a Pancake Day and Bring Your Dog To Work Day but also a Business Plan Day! In honor of Business Plan Day we want to encourage you to sit down with pen in hand and create your business plan. Business plans are important for a variety of reasons but mainly it helps you clearly communicate to your team where you are going and how you can get there. When you can unlock the power of your team to help you row in the same direction you can truly become unstoppable.
One of the hardest things in life is truly knowing what you want and what it will take to get there. If we all want to lose 10 lbs are we willing to get up at 5 am to work out, to not eat that Christmas cookie and invest in training? If not, it’s not the right goal for you. It’s more of a wish that hopefully your fairy godmother comes and grants. However, if there is something you really want then you have to put your energy into it; your heart, your soul and your commitment. Don’t add wishes to your business plan.
Get clear on your SMART goals. They need to be specific, measurable, actionable, realistic and time based. Say you want to grow by 10%. Start by using our growth calculator to see exactly what you need to sell. This includes covering your losses. Once you have that number, you can create your plan. Your plan may include:
- Increasing retention points by 12/31/17 by emailing our clients monthly, sending birthday cards and enacting the APP proactive renewal call process
- Sell $40,000 in new premium each month starting 1/1/17 by setting sales goals, asking for referrals and investing in sales training
- Have each Account Manager sell 8 account rounds per month by 3/31/17 by coaching them on renewal calls and sales training
- Hold monthly sales meetings no matter what
Your business plan will help you clearly identify how and where to grow!
