How to Find Top Talent for Your Insurance Agency Tip 1

For the next three days, we’ll be talking about how to find top talent for your insurance agency. We have three powerful tips for you, which can really help you hire top talent who can push your agency to success.

“You always need to be looking for top talent, not just when you’re hiring our of desperation versus preparation.”

Our first tip is something that can help you stack the deck in your favor when it comes to talent. You should always be looking for top talent, not only in times of desperation but also in the spirit of preparation. Here’s why this can help you figure out how to find top talent for your insurance agency.

1. The workforce is changing

The workforce is rapidly changing, and it’s likely you’ve felt this yourself, or at least seen it. People are quitting their jobs left and right, they’re texting in their resignations, and sometimes they’re not even handing in a two-week notice. Even if you do get that two-week warning, that’s hardly any time to go through the hiring process and find top talent. If you’re always looking for top talent, you’ll have top performers ready to go when the moment is right.

2. You never know when you’ll be in need

Aside from surprise resignations, there are many reasons why an employee might leave you suddenly. You don’t know when someone might leave on disability or in an emergency, for example. These are excellent opportunities to put in your new top talent.

3. You won’t need to hold onto underperformers

You may have some underperformers on your team who you hold onto because you feel like you simply can’t afford to lose someone. If you’re nurturing new talent leads and have people in the pipeline, you can easily replace these underperformers with top talent who will help your agency excel.

The bottom line is that taking steps to nurture new talent doesn’t mean you have to hire them right away. It can be a slow process where you keep them looped in, and then when you have a position, they’re ready to go. By constantly thinking about hiring and recruiting, you’ll be able to build a top-performing team.
