Why You Should ALWAYS Hold A Final Interview

You might have just rolled your eyes, but we are serious. Your team is your greatest investment and you need to be sure that this hire is a sure thing. So, do yourself a favor and hold a final interview.

As for questions to ask, we encourage you to try and understand how this person will fit in with the image you have of your future agency.”

What does this look like? It starts by having the foundation built by the phone and the in-person interview you’ve had with them. You have some idea of what they are about, but it’s time to develop a picture of what they’ll look like in your future agency. This is where you understand what to expect from them and the candidate learns what they can expect from you.

The people in the room should include anyone the candidate could be working closely with. Let the potential hire have some time with other people to have a conversation about how leadership is. This is really good to do because it shows you have confidence in your management and your team—a ghuge green flag.

As for questions to ask, we encourage you to try and understand how this person will fit in with the image you have of your future agency. Do they have any habits that don’t line up with you? Are they teachable?

Once you complete the interview, give it a day and then bring your team in and review the experience. Let everyone share ideas and bring up concerns. The more vetting you do now, the better. Also, healthy debate is always good here.

However you decide to do iit, always host a final interview. Bad hires cost a lot and the more work you do ahead of time the less likely you are to lose out.
