Time Management Tip #12: Using Your Management System

We’re continuing our big series of time management tips, and this next tip might seem like common sense, but it’s often neglected and overlooked. Everyone needs to use your management system, because when you do, it gives you better control over your time.

“We call it air traffic control. Your management system is a central hub, the air traffic control, whatever you wanna call it, for your agency.”

It’s really crucial that everything is attached and documented in your management system. If we think back to our tip where we talked about the two-minute rule, we want to make sure that every task has its relevant information documented and attached. The faster and cleaner everything is put into the system, the better service we can provide for our clients. 

 

It’s not only clients that are impacted by this time management tip, but our team members as well. If you go out to lunch, you’re on vacation, you’re out sick, or you win the lottery, your team can easily get into the management system and access the necessary information. 

 

Using your management system is also a smart move from an E&O perspective. If something comes up or something does happen, you can show that you have it documented in the system, and it can help prevent a large claim.

 

Your management system is like air traffic control, it’s a central hub for your agency. You want to make sure it’s being used, that everything is in one spot, despite where all of the information is coming from.
