3 Rules To Creating Great Insurance Customer Emails

Sigh. Emails.

How can we create great insurance customer emails when we are so busy??

A necessity to your insurance agency but often get lost in people’s inboxes never to be opened (or simply just deleted). We are never really sure how to get our message across to our reader or if the content is visually appeasing. Did it even get to their inbox??

Well, have no fear my friends, I am here to help!

I have come up with 3 Rules that you can all follow to make sure your emails not only make it to your insurance customers’ inboxes, but make an impression on your reader.

Rule #1

Stop using Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook to send out your emails.

Start using an email marketing tool (Mailchimp, Hubspot, Constant Contact) where you can create customizable email templates for your readers. You want the reader to click your email, grab their attention, and leave a lasting impression – customization allows for this to happen! You know what’s great about customizing? Having the ability to have different sized font to dictate a header from a body of text and creating your own fun images (Canva is great for this). YOU are the boss of your email template.

Rule #2

Make sure your emails are in brand.

Everyone should have an idea of what their brand represents, who they are marketing to, what colors/themes/photos/fonts suit their company best (If you don’t, it’s okay we can help!). You want this to be consistent throughout all material you present to your clients and potential leads. It is professional and, in my opinion, necessary for your company/brand to continue to grow.

Consistency is VERY important.  It leaves a lasting impression on those viewing your material. It helps people recognize and remember who you are and what your company stands for.

Rule #3

Add relevant links, social media channels, and visuals.

No one wants to open an email and see a long thread of words on a page. Emails should contain items such as photos and videos to break up the text, social media buttons so your customers know where to find you online (in today’s world social media is the most convenient way to communicate with a  business and we want to be accessible to ALL customers), and last but not least your logo must be present – it defines your business and is how most will recognize your brand.

So go out there, create awesome insurance content, and send it out in your new and improved customized email templates!
