In today’s business world, simple marketing hacks like direct mailing and email are just not enough. The average consumer is looking at ads, products, services, etc. on this little device they hold in their hand. The cell phone.
On this cell phone we have things called “Apps” and these lovely tools give us access to the world! So, you see, with this ever changing world of technology, we must also change the way we target our audiences.
I may be young and more apt to understanding technology, however, there are so many hidden features in social media marketing that even I have to do some research!
Here’s my list of the “Top 5 Social Media Tips For Growth in Your Business”
Tip #1: Have fun! Social media does not have to be serious and business related only. It is great to show your customers (and potentials) that your company/brand knows how to have fun too! People don’t view Facebook or Twitter as a “social media network”. These two outlets are viewed as a way to stay connected and interact with audiences. So do just that! Share a post, tag those who you think would be interested, tag your location, post a picture of your team in the office doing something fun, share an article you have recently read and start a discussion around it. This is your opportunity to reach out to those “stalkers” who may check out your account but never interact.
Tip #2: If you are hosting an event or webinar – make a Facebook Event Page! This will not only generate coverage on what you are doing, but when someone clicks “interested”, “going”, or “not going” on the invitation, that will show up on their newsfeed and in return their friends will see their response. This will expand your audience base and get more people interested in learning more!
Tip #3: Build your brand for FREE. That’s right. Using these social media networks is 100% free. You can post, share, tag, and like without any cost associated with it. You can use paid ads for your brand (which is always beneficial) which will help you reach a broader audience. Share work that you are proud of that your agency has done, have an employee or client spotlight once a month, share videos of some tips of how your business can help others, Facebook live is a great tool to not only interact with audiences in real time but can also be archived and viewed at a later date. You can use these videos to show off a product, have a Q&A session with the viewers, share a recent success or struggle your company has had.
So the moral of the story is, “Be relatable!” Clients want to be able to relate to you or feel like you understand where they are coming from. This is where brand and customer loyalty happens.
