Mission statements are meant for websites and brochures right? WRONG, very very very WRONG! Missions statements are a great tool for sales, management and your team to utilize. A mission statement is designed to tell the world, your team and your prospects why you exist. If your team isn’t sure why you exist, we have a problem.
In a previous life I worked for a company where it was a fireable offense to not know our mission statement. I completely understand why. As a team member it was my job to live out that mission each and every day. If the team doesn’t know the mission statement, that means the clients don’t and we aren’t going anywhere. I personally love mission statements at review time. It helps show the team member what you want and how they can deliver your expectations.
We believe every agency needs a mission statement and one step further, every team member should be able to recite it.
