I hope this subject line made you laugh. I firmly believe everyone has had at least one weenie producer. So what are the signs of a weenie producer?
- You hear more excuses than plans
- When asked, they always have a whale they are working on
- Apparently everyone needs service so they can’t sell
- They always say “Well if I had brochures, scripts etc then I would sell.”
- Asking for referrals seems pushy
So why do we put up with these weenies? They are a huge waste of time and often only really hustle when their back is against the wall and even then it’s never consistent. So why do we keep the weenie producers?
- Confrontation is uncomfortable
- We want them to succeed
- They do a great job selling us to believe in them
- They make their pipeline seem awesome
Bottom line is hire hunters and self driven rockstars and leave back the people you have to PUSH to succeed. There are no excuses in being successful.
