So attracting Millennials is a hot topic in the insurance world. What can those of us in the insurance world do??? Well let’s start by planning fun events.
We recently attended the Annual Michigan PIA convention and we had a blast! The entire event was designed for networking, fun and education. All of the speakers had bright vibrant topics and many future agency leaders were excited to attend. It was like an extension of a great young agents event.
If we want to get the youth involved, we need to bring a younger flavor to our insurance events. The events need to be fun, lively and tech driven. If millennials came to your event would they be psyched? Here are some tips to get them psyched:
- Serve adult beverages
- Have fun activities (Michigan PIA had dueling pianos)
- Find fun and energetic speakers
- Make the dress code casual
- Have awards for the young agents
- Keep speakers topics around technology, sales and marketing
Bottom line is if we want to attract youth, we need welcome them with open arms.
