How to Get Insurance Generations to Thrive – Take a Stance
Different generations are bound to do things differently. It’s no reason to be upset or shame anyone. Our differences often make us stronger, but there are times when they can cause some issues. And that is why you need to take a stance in your insurance agency.
It is up to you to set agency values. When these are in question, issues will inevitably arise because without leadership’s input everyone will have their own idea of what is right.
You have to clearly identify your insurance agency’s protocols and procedures.
For example, do you absolutely hate when people come in late, or do you consider the morning start time to be flexible?
Take a look at other things that happen around the office. What do you find acceptable? What do you find unacceptable?
Make the distinction and let people know what you need. If you are nervous about bringing this to your team, you can provide metrics to back up your position. You can also incentivize your team into this change (get team buy-in) by using goals and different things to recognize the change.
We can’t tell you what to choose, but we do know that you need to pick something because this back and forth is doing nothing good for your business. So, make your decisions and take a stance in your insurance agency.
