Be Direct with Your Insurance Team
All of the points we’ve shared about keeping people accountable are almost useless if you are unable to be direct with your insurance team.
“Speed is really key here because dwelling in these kinds of moments never feels good, for either party.”
It sounds harsh, but it’s true. Time is a valuable thing and all of these ideas work to balance time and efficiency. But the only way to introduce these systems and get the most benefit out of them is by being direct.
We don’t mean direct as in aggressively to the point with no tact to be seen for miles, but instead you should aim to land in the space between too nice (beating around the bush) and making them feel bad. You don’t need to do that either.
It’s important that your team member knows that what you are discussing is serious. That kind of thing doesn’t take long. You can bring them in, get a feel for where their mind is at, and try to meet them there, letting them know what’s up.
Speed is really key here because dwelling in these kinds of moments never feels good, for either party.
At the end of all of this, be sure to get your point across. Don’t leave the person confused, wondering what the actual point was. Identify the issue, discuss it in as much detail as you see fit, and work with the person to develop a course of action.
But above all else, be direct with your insurance team. It will save everyone time and energy and will be a lo more beneficial than waiting for the “right moment” (which FYI doesn’t exist). That is how you will cap off this effort of keeping people accountable in your insurance agency.
