Building an agency success roadmap is a big undertaking, and all this week, we’re talking about topics from our brand new course on the subject. So you’ve gotten your resources together, you have the numbers, and put some thoughts down on paper. Now we have to ask ourselves: “What are we actually doing this year?” The answer to that question is in what we call our insurance agency’s big 3 initiative.

Here’s what you need to know about your insurance agency’s big 3 initiatives:

 

  • They’re just three goals

Your big 3 are your big, audacious goals that you pour all of your energy into. Every decision can be looked at through the lens of these three goals. Does it fit or does it not? If resources are limited, you always go with what supports the big 3.

 

  • They could be anything 

Your insurance agency’s big 3 initiatives could be anything. These goals could have to do with your retention rate, book growth, or opening a new location. Whatever it is, these are the three things that get your attention and your resources. Underneath these goals are layers of other goals that might even span years, but these are the big 3 that people can wrap their heads around.

 

  • They should be a rallying cry

You need to keep beating the drum to these three things. What are the three things that are going to make the most impact this year? What are the three things that are worthy of your time and investment? They should be the biggest and most important situation you’re going to have.
