Insurance Agency Tip: Success is Hard There is No Easy Way
Great news, you are an entrepreneur and an insurance agent. Entrepreneurs work their butts off. They are the only people who will work 80 hour weeks to avoid reporting to someone else for 40 hours per week. As I am privileged to work with agencies across this country, I learn one thing is true of all growing agencies. They have owners that are killing themselves with hard work in the pursuit of the American dream.
Now, I have met several agencies that aren’t focused on hard work. They are focused on golf or vacations or anything but their agency. That never works. If you want to retire do it! If you want to lighten your load hire someone. Someone has to be working their tail off towards agency growth.
The agencies that are thriving have a “whatever it takes” attitude. This means making hard staffing decisions, cold calling if necessary, and mainly putting the customer first. If you are wondering why your agency isn’t growing, and you haven’t gone on a sales call in a while or held a motivating staff meeting, the first place to start is in the mirror.
