Does your agency have a fun director? That’s right, a Director of Fun.
James D. Finn is the Fun Director at Finn’s Insurance. He is also (most of the time) the top producer. When I first met the four Finn brothers it was determined immediately that every Finn needed a job and Jim was the right guy for the job of Director of Fun.
So what does the fun director do? Well he or she insures that the agency has a fun focus. We all know insurance is generally not super fun. By putting someone in charge of the fun, we guarantee a fun experience for the customer and the team. You can view a few of the Fun Director’s main accomplishments by checking out their Facebook page!
Fun Directors are generally in charge of the following:
- Monitoring team morale
- Planning fun contests for the team (for example, if the agency hits a certain number of new Facebook likes they throw an ice cream party)
- Paying compliments to team members
- Planning one team outing every quarter
- Doing random acts of Fun!
- Addressing Eeyore attitudes when they arise
If your agency’s culture has fallen a little flat, a little negative or you’re losing momentum, you should take a listen to a recent radio broadcast done with Jim Finn. He explains how the Fun Director’s job has taken his agency to a new level based on the recommendation of Kelly Donahue-Piro. If you want the same experience in your agency, call us today and ask about our Agency Assessment. And if you’re a fellow fun director looking for a home, we may be able to help you!
