Ridiculously Amazing Agent of the Month: Debbie Kane, Sava Insurance

Each month we will be presenting to you one Ridiculously Amazing agent profile. These profiles are meant to share with you and show you what can be accomplished when you combine passion and commitment to a plan for success. Use these profiles to motivate and set new goals for yourself and your team.

Debbie Kane is no ordinary personal lines agent. Working for her mother and with her sister at Sava Insurance in Waterford, CT Debbie is a force to be reckoned with. In addition to being an excellent agent, Debbie is also a mother of 4 and VP of Personal Insurance at the agency. Her primary role is sales but she also helps train, motivate and coach the personal lines team on best practices.

Debbie hit an all time record in November of 2016. She sold 101 personal lines policies in 1 month, totaling a little over $100,000 in new personal lines premium. She did all of this while training a new assistant to help her. So when you are thinking you may not make it to 25 policies this month, get hustling!

In connecting with Debbie she will attribute her success to being out and networking. She often is at BNI meetings, chamber events, and young professional meetings. From her networking meetings she takes pride in creating relationships with Centers of Influence that can help introduce her to new people and refer business. In any given week Debbie is attending 2-4 networking events and she’s donating her time to community events that help give her more exposure. In personal insurance if you want the high value targets you have to be present where they are. Remember people want to buy from people they like and the more you are out there the more accessible you are.

Some may question how she makes it work with 4 kids. She keeps a balance. Debbie is careful to stay at networking events just the right amount of time and select ones around her personal schedule. In addition, she talks to her kids about the needs to be networking. Her kids are supportive of their mother’s work ethic.
