What Resources Does Your Insurance Agency Need?

“Think a little bit about doing a resource review. What do you have? What do you need? What do we need to learn more about? What do we need to investigate, before you go buy anything new? The only reason you should buy something new is because it’s ready and it’s planned and you have a date for execution.”
Earlier this week we spoke about “the big 3,” or the big three things you want to put your energy into at your agency. In order to accomplish that, you’re going to need to do a resource check, to see what your team needs to accomplish those goals. Here’s what that looks like:
Ask yourself what your team needs
You need to go through your list of resources to see what your team needs. Does your team need training? Do you have the tools to do it? Is there something out there in the insurance universe that can benefit you and help you get closer to your goal? Review what you’d like to have, to help you achieve your goals.
Review what you already have
A lot of times when we’re deciding what we need, we can look in our own arsenal. While new can seem like a lot more fun, we might already have excellent tools in our management system. Sometimes we don’t know certain features of our system, or that our vendors already have, for example. Why spend a single penny more when you don’t have to?
Train consistently
When you are investing in resources, make sure that you have an organized methodology and training ready for when you deploy them. The more you invest in your team, the better they’re going to be. Decide what your team needs to learn more about, and make sure you have a good plan of deployment and execution.
