When to Make Changes in Your Insurance Agency?
We’ve been discussing the season that is the “summer hangover,” or that time of the year towards the end of the summer when everyone is taking time off from your agency, and everyone is also feeling a little burnt out from the busy season. Today’s topic is all about when to make changes in your insurance agency, and taking the summer hangover into consideration.
“Changing things when there’s a lot of people coming and going due to vacation, and when it’s the craziest time, may not be the best fit.”
Making big changes when there are a lot of people coming and going due to vacation combined with when it’s your busy season may not be the best idea. Here are some things to take into consideration, and some time management skills to tap into, when you’re deciding when to make changes in your insurance agency:
Look at your book of business
Making big changes when you have tons of business might make it more stressful for everyone, so you can run a simple book of business report to determine your most productive agency renewal time. Then, you can plan changes accordingly. This might mean launching your next big change in the fall, after the summer hangover.
Look at your vacation calendar
You should always consult your company vacation calendar when you’re trying to decide when to make changes in your insurance agency. If everyone is taking a lot of time off during the summer and people are coming and going, it might be tough to get everyone on board with your changes.
Remember adoption is your goal
When deciding when to make changes in your insurance agency, remember that your goal is to get your team to adopt the changes. If people are coming and going like ships passing in the night, or they’re up to their eyeballs with work, full adoption all-around is going to be tough.
Don’t stack the deck against yourself when deciding when to make changes in your insurance agency. Instead, take a look at your agency and build a strategy, so that you make changes in the best ways possible.
